Let's dig into the human figure!

Drawing the figure well involves knowledge about how the masses of the ribcage and pelvis drive the motion of the rest of the body. We'll cover the major parts of the body and how they move, what their masses look like, and how best to capture them.

Our first three sessions will be devoted to a primer on the forms of the body and studying historical examples of figure drawing. The second three sessions will involve a live figure model to practice with.

This is an in-studio class. Class tuition includes a model fee of $75. Materials list will be sent out closer to the start of the class.

I hope you will join me to study in a calm and kind environment, and build your skills in depicting the human figure, considered the pinnacle of the artist’s craft.
