Welcome to Saturday Studio!
My Studio series of classes are informal: you bring the project or skill building idea you wish to work on. I will provide personalized instruction to help you complete your project or build your abilities. You may work in whatever drawing or painting medium you wish to use (please no encaustic).
I teach to the student, so if you’re an absolute beginner, we’ll work on getting you on the right path; if you’re an experienced painter, I’ll help guide you towards pushing your art where you want it to go.
Classes are limited to five students maximum (sorry, I just don’t have space for more.) The room will be well-ventilated, weather-permitting. You will need to provide your preferred art materials: brushes, paints, a travel or folding easel. (I do have some easels in the studio, so let me know if you need to borrow one.) If you use solvents, (walnut oil also works very well to remove paint from brushes and you can then clean brushes at home with plain soap and water), extra-low-VOC solvents (Gamsol) is required. The studio is equipped with a slop sink for clean up.

Liability Waiver
I understand that in the event I cannot or choose not to continue participation in an event, workshop, class or classes at Kurt Ankeny Studio, I am responsible for full payment of the total tuition of the event, workshop, class or classes I have committed to. In addition, if I am asked to terminate participation due to unacceptable conduct, I am responsible for full payment of the total tuition of the class or classes I have committed to.
I understand that neither Kurt Ankeny-Beauchamp nor his affiliates (of which Kurt Ankeny Studio is one), employees, agents and representatives are liable for personal injuries or loss to personal property. I understand that due to the nature of these activities and the tools and equipment used, injuries may occur. I understand that each student (or their guardian) is responsible for disclosing physical or other limitations prior to participation in any activity.
I agree to indemnify and hold the owners of Kurt Ankeny-Beauchamp, Kurt Ankeny Studio, and its representatives harmless from any loss, damage, or injury which may result from my or participation in activities at Kurt Ankeny Studio. This release of liability and indemnity applies equally to losses, damages, or injuries caused or alleged to be caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the owners of Kurt Ankeny Studio. I further agree to release, waive and discharge, and covenant not to sue the owners of Kurt Ankeny Studio for any claims, demands, or actions whatsoever arising out of any damage, loss, or injury incurred on or to me as a result of my participation in activities at Kurt Ankeny Studio. This release of liability and indemnity applies to me, the undersigned, as well as any personal representatives, assigns, heirs and next of kin.
I acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and other contagious diseases and viruses, and voluntarily assume the risk I may be exposed to or infect by COVID-19 and other contagious diseases and viruses.
In addition, I understand that Kurt Ankeny Studio will have the opportunity to have photographs and video taken of its participants for promotional purposes and I give permission for myself (if 21 years of age) or my child to be photographed or videoed for that purpose only. I release all claims against Kurt Ankeny Studio with respect to copyright ownership and publication.
