ABSTRACT PAINTING CHALLENGE

Class meets Fridays from 1-4pm, weekly April 11 to May 16.

Join us to explore the process behind creating abstract paintings. We will work on paint gestures, interaction of forms, color play, reacting to the painting, editing, composition, mood, and more. 

Abstract painting often confuses people as they feel that it holds deep meanings that are hidden from them. And while that can be true, it is also true of jazz music, or classical. The piece’s original intent may be hidden from you, but the interaction between the audience and the work is the meaning. 

We will explore how to work with that dynamic as painters in this class. 

Materials are whatever you wish to work in.
